How Much Does a New Roof Cost in Amarillo? (2026)

From $9,000 for a simple single-story shingle roof to $35,000 for a two-story house in standing seam, going by three worked examples from Amarillo jobs:

• 1,600 sq ft single-story rental, simple gable, architectural shingle: $9,000 to $11,000.
• 2,400 sq ft family home, moderate pitch, some replaced decking, Class 4 shingle: $14,000 to $17,500.
• 2,800 sq ft two-story with a cut-up roofline, standing-seam metal: $28,000 to $35,000.

Size and pitch first, then material, tear-off and decking, the system under the shingles, code items and the permit fee:

1. Roof size and pitch. A typical Amarillo roof is 17 to 22 squares, and larger, steeper or two-story homes run $15,000 to $20,000 in architectural shingle.
2. Material. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles add roughly 10% to 20% to the architectural price, and standing seam costs about double the price of shingles.
